Duke of Edinburgh to retire from royal duties in Autumn

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh has made a decision to retire form royal duties this autumn. He turns 96 in June. Queen Elizabeth has supported him in taking this decision, sources say.

Buckingham Palace sources say that the duke will attend already scheduled engagements between now and August but will not accept new invitations. The Queen "will continue to carry out a full programme of official engagements".
