A petition has been sighned by more than a two million people in the UK calling for a second referendum over the country’s EU membership. It is likely that the petition will now have to be discussed in the British Parliament. There can be debate in the House of Commons. The UK voted to leave the EU by 52 to 48 per cent in Thursday’s referendum.

The petition said: “We the undersigned call upon Her Majesty’s Government to implement a rule that if the Remain or Leave vote is less than 60 per cent based a turnout less than 75 per cent there should be another referendum.”


At the recent referendum, Britain has voted to quit the European Union. According to reports and official results released early the mandate for quitting won 17,410, 742 votes, while the mandate to remain secured 16, 141, 241 votes. 51.9% voted to quit the EU, while 48 endorsed to remain in the EU. While England voted overwhelmingly for Brexit, Scotland and Northern Ireland backed Remain, they further indicated.


Britons began commenced voting at the Referandum today, Thursday, June 23. British Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha, Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn were among the voters. There are 46.5 million voters eligilble to cast votes in deciding whether to remain in the 28-nation European Union or not.
