Stalin elected DMK Leader unanimously


Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president M.K. Stalin has been elected as the president of the party. He was elected unanimously at the meeting of the general council of the DMK held on Tuesday, August, 2018. A total of 1907 persons had either proposed or seconded Stalin's name.

65 year old Stalin is the second President of one of the oldest political parties in India. The election for the post of President was held following the death of party president former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi, who held the post for 49 years.
