President meets Muslims assures religious accord


President Maithripala Sirisena has assured that he would ensure religious accord and communal harmony in the island. That was his pledge to the country when he contested for Presidency and he would not breach that solemn pledge a necessary ingredient to build a united Sri Lanka.

He was addressing a gathering of Muslims in Kaduruwela Jummah Mosque on Sunday. Chief of the Mosque Moulavy Mthalif presided. He stated that national amity is essential basis to build up a nation.

President Sirisena reiterated that he is the President of the whole country, and he must serve all communities in a just manner. That is the good governance we advocate.
