"We propose 19 A to ensure Rule of Law" :Ranil

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has observed that the new government under President Maaithripala Sirisena is totally committed to restore and preserve the sacred Rule of Law in the island at all cost. It is with that objective in mind that the government is to introduce the 19th Amendment to the Constitution empowering independent commissions and the judiciary. The government is in the process of drafting the 19th Amendment to the Constitution which could see the restoration of independent commissions and restoration of powers to the judiciary.
