Japans envoy in Jaffna donates books to Jaffna Library

Japan’s envoy to Sri Lanka, Akira Sugiyama donated 92 books to the Jaffna Public Library at a simple ceremony recently. Jaffna Mayor Emmanuel Arnold received the books from the Japanese Ambassador. It was sponsored by the Nippon Foundation.

Japanese Embassy in a release said: The Nippon Foundation is the foremost public welfare and philanthropical organization in Japan, and has been playing the leading role in Sri Lanka in promoting the Japanese language and culture at Sasakawa Center in Colombo, while aiming to achieve "a society where all people support one another, reducing the burdens and challenges they face together".
