RTI Week in Jaffna

Civil society representatives in the Jaffna district participated in the Right to Information Week held at the Veerasingam Hall in Jaffna recently to mark International Day for Universal Access to Information.

The special event was held under the patronage of National Media Centre with the objective to raise awareness on the Right to Information Act and take the message to the villages.

National Media Centre Director Jagath Liyana Arachci, Dharsana Gunaratne and Jaffna District Secretary N.Vethanayaham addressed the event.

Addressing the event, Ministry of Finance and Mass Media Additional Secretary J.M. Thilaka Jayasundara said: "We have organised various events for the entire week, specially the mobile service to raise the awareness of RTI in Jaffna District. We want people to use this opportunity and establish good governance, which will eventually help boost the economy."
