President at Ashirwada Pooja at Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara


President Maithripala Sirisena attended the Ashirwada Bodhi Pooja held at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara on January 3. The Vihara is hailed as a sacred place blessed by the Buddha's second visit to Sri Lanka. The pooja was held to seek blessings for the New Year.

Ven. Kotapola Amarakitti Thero delivered the Dhamma sermon. The Maha Sangha chanted the Seth Pirith and invoked the blessings on the President. Venerable Professor Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkhitha Thera, the Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Ministers and MPs and devotees participated on this religious ceremony.Kelaniya-Rajamaha-Viharaya-860-01
