President Maithripala Sirisena and Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa graced the annual Nawam Maha Perehera of the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple, in Colombo on Tuesday. They kept the sacred casket on top of the elephant at the event.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe graced the annual Nawam Perahera of the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya as its Chief Guest. He placed the casket of Sacred Relics on the ceremonial tusker at the temple premises. It later paraded the streets.

President Maithripala Sirisena has called upon the people to bring forth a new national movement to form a new government and a new set of programs for the betterment of the country. This year is n election year and a new government will be made.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe declared open the Kopay Divisional Secretariat on Thursday.

Leaders of estate trade unions in Kegalle District met the JVP Leader Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake and held discussions on issues relating to their wellbeing. The discussions also focused on their daily wage. The meeting took place at the JVP head office at Pelawatta recently.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has stated that talks are under way with the Tamil National Alliance to find a political solution to the national issue through a new constitution. However a draft constitution has not yet been prepared.
