Three Tamil prisoners suspend fast


The three Tamil political prisoners who had been on fast for 40 days in the Anurathapura Prison suspended their fast on Saturday afternoon.

They undertook the fast demanding that they be released from prison and that the order directing their cases to be heard in the Anurathapura High Court be revoked.

They took the decision to suspend the fast following a meeting with members of their families, civil activists, Parliamentarians Ankajan Ramanathan, Sivasakthy Anandan, Provincial Minister, Provincial Councilor Shivajilingam and representatives of Jaffna University Federation.
