SLFP decides to contest LG polls independently


SLFP General Secretary Duminda Dissanayake has stated that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will contest the forthcoming Local Government (LG) polls independently without any alliance with the United National Party. UNP is their ally in the current consensual government.

He stated that the decision was arrived at a meeting of the SLFP held at the Presidential Secretariat today, Friday, November 3. SLFP Chairman President Maithripala Sirisena chaired the meeting.
