President Maithripala Sirisena and First Lady Jayanthy Sirisena arrived in Tirupathy, the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara to invoke blessings on October 7. This is President Sirisena’s third visit as the head of the state. They reached Tirupati from Bengaluru by road.
After an overnight stay, he and his family were expected to participate in 'Suprabhatha" recitation ritual inside the temple early tomorrow on Oct 8. He would leave soon after offering prayers to Lord Venkateswara. He also visited the Srivari Padam, 2 kms from Tirumala. He was appraised of the significance of the mythological spot.
