President Maithripala Sirisena attended the Investment Forum held in Dhaka, on July 15 as the Chief Guest. Sri Lanka as well as Bangladesh investors and entrepreneurs participated. The objective of the Forum was to explore new investments and business opportunities in Sri Lanka.
The trade figure between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is US$ 142 million per year and during this Forum the attention was drawn to make it a three-fold rise within next years, reports say.
It was also discussed regarding the agreements entered into by leaders of the both countries. The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake and Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abdul Hassan Mahmood Ali also addressed the Forum.
