Sampanthan to meet Maha Sangha, apprise the Tamils’ stance

Tamil National Alliance is to call on the Buddhist Prelates and urge their support to find a lasting solution to the ethnic issue following the enactment of a new constitution- a pledge made at the presidential poll and parliamentary election.

He is also expected to brief the Maha Sangha that their demands are not a threat to Buddhism and to the unity of the island. On the other hand it would enhance the island’s unity.

TNA has taken this decision in the wake of the Maha Sangha suddenly protesting against the making of a new constitution. TNA has decided to clarify the stance of the Tamil people and clear any misgivings.
