The foundation stone for an eight storey nurses’ training school at Kalutara was laid at a simple ceremony. Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne was the Chief Guest.
Addressing the event, Minister Senaratne stated that his ministry has stopped night shifts for nurses for a period of one year from the date of delivery of their child. This will enable them to look after their infants properly. He also stated that nurses’ training schools will be set up in Anuradhapura, Kalutara, Kandy and Galle.
