A demonstration was held at the ‘Agitation Site’ opposite the Galle Face Green on Tuesday, February 23 protesting against refusal of permission for burial of Muslim COVID victims.
It was held under the patronage of the National Movement Against Forcible Cremation (NMAFC). The protestors also urged the authorities to respect Prime Minister's statement in the House and allow the burial of Muslim COVID victims.
Parliamentarians Mujiber Rahuman, Mano Ganesan, S.Sritharan and others too took part in the agitation.
