Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has stated that permission would be given for the burial of the remains of COVID -19 victims in Sri Lanka.

Premier Mahinda made this assurance in the Parliament while responding to a question raised by Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian S.M.Marikkar.

Earlier Marikkar in raising a question over the issues submitted that State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics, and COVID Disease Control, (Dr.) Sudarshini Fernandopulle had informed Parliament yesterday that COVID-19 does not spread through water. In such a context, how could the Government still refuse permission for the burial of the remains of Covid victims in the country.
