Nine Indian fishermen taken into custody for poaching in Sri Lankan waters 03

Nine Indian fishermen were taken into custody by the Sri Lankan Navy allegedly for poaching in Sri Lankan waters. They belonged to the age groups from 18 to 52 years. Their fishing trawler was also seized. About 500kg of illegally caught fish, fishing accessories and other items were held by the Navy.

Navy apprehended them during an operation carried out by the Northern Naval Command in seas northwest of the Delft Island.
