Hill country Tamils mourn the demise of Arumugam Thondaman

The hill country Tamils mourned the death of former Minister and Leader of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress late Arumugam Thondaman on Friday, May 29. Traders closed shops. White flags were put up at houses and business places to express grief.

The remains of Thondaman were kept at his residence in Wevanden in Rambodai. CWC former Chairman and former Parliamentarian Muthusivalingam was among the people that paid their last respect.
