Death due to COVID-19 in Sri Lanka rises to 4


The death toll due to COVID-19 in Sri Lanka has risen to 4 following the death of another patient infected with COVID-19 on Thursday.

The deceased had been a 58-year old male who received treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Colombo. He had died of worsening of pneumonia from the infection.

Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe officially confirmed the death. The first deceased person due to COVID-19 was 64 year old, the second was 60 year old and the third was 73 year old.

According to official sources, 151 patients have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 while 126 are active cases currently on treatment at the hospitals. 21 patients have been recovered and discharged from the hospitals.
