SB Dissanayake 700 03

Parliamentarian S.B Dissanayake has charged President Maithripala Sirisena, who is the Chairman of the SLFP, could not unilaterally take a decision to sack any member of the SLFP.

He was responding to the announcement that his party membership had been suspended. Dissanayake said:

"Only the Central Committee of the SLFP can take away my membership. A number of people who took part in the CC meeting told me that they had not talked about suspending MPs. Thus, President Maithripala Sirisena, the party Chairman can’t take a unilateral decision."
