Navy arrests 6 Indian fishermen for poaching 700 01
A group of six Indian fishermen who were engaged in fishing illegally in Sri Lankan territorial waters were taken into custody by the Navy on Thursday, July11 by the Sri Lankan Navy. The six Indian poachers were aged 62, 48, 39, 27, 22 and 12. Their fishing craft (Dhow) was also seized.

Fast Gun Boat attached to the Northern Naval Command, on routine patrol, apprehended these Indian fishermen who had trespassed about 3 nautical miles into the Sri Lankan territorial waters for poaching. The apprehended fishermen were brought to the naval base SLNS Elara.
