Japans State Minister of Foreign Affairs Toshiko Abe calls on Premier Ranil 700 01
Japan’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms Toshiko Abe called on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe at Temple Trees on Wednesday and held discussions on the current political situation in the country.

State Minister Abe said that Sri Lanka and Japan signing a defense agreement between the two countries would be an important step in preventing international terrorist activities from seeping into the country. Premier Wickremesinghe has expressed gratitude for Japan’s assistance to Sri Lanka in counterterrorism in both equipment and training.

Ambassador of Japan in Sri Lanka, Akira Sugiyama, Embassy Staff Officer Takeshi Osaki and Japan Foreign Affairs Ministry officials Takahiro Shiota and Tetsuo Kitada were also present.
