JVP will defeat political conspiracy: Anura Dissanayaka

Anura Disanayake 700 010
Leader of the JVP Parliamentarian Anura Dissanayaka has observed that the conspiracy hatched by Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena offering positions, privileges and black money should be defeated. As such the JVP would act to defeat this political conspiracy at the very first instance.

He made this observation addressing a press conference held at the JVP head office at Pelawatta recently. In his address, Anura said:

“Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena have shown positions, privileges and black money could be utilized to form governments. As such this conspiracy should be defeated. We ask the Speaker to convene Parliament immediately. For, a majority of Parliamentarians have requested the Speaker to convene Parliament. The conspiracy of proroguing Parliament which is a part of the conspiracy to grab power also should be defeated. The attempt to form a government with black money should be defeated. This political conspiracy should be defeated within Parliament as well as outside it.

We ask the Speaker not to accept the proroguing of Parliament. For, the Speaker had not been informed regarding proroguing Parliament. Also, the Gazette has been issued without informing the Speaker definitely about the reconvening of Parliament. Already, the Speaker has released a special statement. He has stated he would not recognize new changes and he recognizes the earlier positions in parliament until the Parliament is convened. The JVP considers this statement of the Speaker as a very strong decision and thank the Speaker for taking such a decision.

We would ask for a vote when the President makes government’s policy statement, the speech about ‘new government’s policies’. Also, the JVP would support if a vote is taken against the positions that have been appointed violating the Constitution. Also, if the new government presents budget proposals or any such bill we would take measures to defeat it. We would keep away from voting if any vote comes up to decide who would become the Prime Minister. However, we are prepared to defeat any unconstitutional and undemocratic process.”
