Torrential rains lash out; 8 killed, 11 missing, 466 families displaced

The torrential rains in several parts of the island have resulted in at least 8 deaths, 11 persons missing and displacement of 466 families.

In addition 21,105 people have been affected, 1295 houses have been partially damaged and 13 houses have been fully damaged while 183 small businesses have sustained damages. This has been revealed by the Disaster Management Center.

 Meanwhile, Badulla, Kalutara, Galle, and Kegalle districts have been issued with landslide warnings.
