Kanthapuranam traditions are a way of life, and give an identity to Jaffna man: Dhanabalaa

President of the Arumuganavalar Sabai and Vice President of the All Ceylon Hindu Congress Vidai Kodi Chelvar Sinnadurai Dhanabaala has observed that the Kanthapuranam presents not merely a doctrine but more importantly a way of life that gives the Jaffna man an identity. It portrayed a Saivaite philosophy and Saivaite way of life.

He stressed that the Saivaites must jealously preserve and protect the traditions espoused by Kanthapuranam to mould the lives of the modern Tamil youths. The traditions of Kanthapuranam that prevail in the soil of Jaffna are hailed by Saivaites of Tamil Nadu as exemplary.

He made this observation delivering the key note address at the Kanthapurana Renaissance Festival held at the Nallai Thurgnanasampanthar Aatheenam recently. It was held under the patronage of the Department of Hindu Cultural Affairs.  Assistant Director of the Department R.Karjin presided. There were cultural programmes. The event was held on the sidelines of the Nallur Kanthaswamy Temple Festival.
