mavai-700-01

Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi Leader Parliamentarian Mavai Senathirasa has charged the Delimitation Report has totally rejected the proposals made by the Tamil speaking people. It only reflects majoritarian view point. It is discriminatory towards the minorities.

He made the charge taking part in the debate on the Delimitation Report debate in Parliament on Friday. He stated that the Tamil National Alliance made proposals to the Committee based on an assessment of the need for representation of the Tamil speaking people not only in the north and east but also across the island including the hill country. But that proposal has not been accommodated.
He concluded by requesting the government to bring forth a delimitation report that accommodates the aspirations of the minorities.
