Ex Navy spokesperson grated bail


Former Navy spokesperson Commodore, D. M. K. Dassanayake and five others accused in an alleged abduction case were granted bail by Colombo High Court Judge Manilal Waidyathilaka on Jan 8. They were indicted allegedly for abducting eleven youth in 2008. They were released on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000 and three sureties each worth Rs. 400,000. The accused were ordered to the CID Headquarters every Saturday.

President's Counsel Anil Silva appeared with Maithri Guneratne for the accused. Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara appeared for the Attorney General.
