Death sentence to 5 Indians , 3 Lankans

Five Indian nationals and three Sri Lankans who were found guilty of importing, possessing and dealing in 955.4 heroine, were sentenced to death by Colombo High Court Judge Preedhi Padman Surasena after trial.

They were indicted of having committed the offences on October 11, 2011. Senior State Counsel Madhawe Tennekoon prosecuted, while Senior Defence Counsel Anil Silva, PC, Sheriff Mohideen and Sri Kanth defended.
