Corruption case against Weerawanse; next hearing on November 2

The next hearing of the corruption case against National Freedom Front Leader Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa has been fixed for November 2 by the Colombo High Court.

Wimal Weerawansa has been indicted with having misappropriated Rs. 75 million in assets, while he was a Minister of the former government. He had been unable to explain how he accumulated this wealth, according to the police.

The Bench comprised Colombo High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi.
