“Inundate hospitals with Sai spirit”: Dr.Chowderi

Dr. Chowderi Voleti, Director of SSSIHMS, observed that the spirit of Sai must inundate all the hospitals to serve the people with dedication.

He was delivering the keynote address at the Sai Vaidya Sangamam, the First Annual Alumni Meet of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram and Whitefield organized at the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram. Conference saw the participation of over 300 alumni of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram and Whitefield cutting across the various specialties from all over the country and abroad.

Speaking on the occasion Sri K Chakravarthy, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust said that it was heartening to see the response to the alumni meet and said that he would expect more and more alumni to participate in future, “And I think that would give the greatest joy to Bhagawan Baba,” he said.

“Out of the 52 weeks in a year if you are able to give one week to the hospitals, that will go a long way in not only connecting you to the institutions and creating a strong bond, but also help the hospitals to gain from your experience,” he said.   Sri  Chakravarthy also added that the one week that the alumni spend in this holy place will provide them with sufficient energy, spirit and passion to carry on with their profession outside,  for the rest of the year.

Earlier welcoming the alumni, the Director of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, Dr Choudary Voleti said that Bhagawan Baba’s philosophy was simple, "Love All Serve All and Help Ever Hurt Never", but in today’s world, the two most service based professions medicine and educations,  have become the most successful businesses. “This is how much we have degraded ourselves,” Dr Voleti said and therefore it is important for us to bring in the values taught to us in Swami’s hospitals to our work,” he added.

Director of SSSIHMS, Whitefield, Dr Swarna Bharadwaj, in her talk to the alumni delineated the roadmap for an Alumni Association of SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram and Whitefield.
