Sri Lankan Dance troupe participates in National Tribal Dance Festival in India

Sri Lanka Pot Dance

A twelve member Sri Lankan dance troupe led by Umah Sritharan, Director of Sri Sathya Sai Kalalayam in Kandy, participated in the National Tribal Dance Festival – 2019 held in Chhattisgarh State of India.

The troupe mesmerized the audience by showcasing various forms of indigenous dances of Sri Lanka such as Pot dance, Harvest dance, Raban dance, Sword dance and Peacock dance.

The dance group was sponsored by the Government of the State of Chhattisgarh and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR).

The troupe also met with Chief Minister of the State of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel who awarded the group with certificates and memento for the event.
